WRPOA Volunteer Community Road Work Day(s) A Success!

On Friday and Saturday, March 14 and 15, a group of volunteers got all the culverts and ditches cleaned out on community roads.  A crew armed with backpack leaf blowers, loppers, shovels and rakes began the cleaning process by clearing out the debris before a tractor followed up in the ditches to remove sediment.  Then an excavator dug out around the culvert deepening the area to collect any loose sediment that might wash down the ditch.  Additional roadwork was done to scrape the roads and cut drainage outlets where necessary to prevent water from running down the road surface. Check out the look of our updated culvert markers. This is "Penley #1".

Once we get a few good rains to further settle any sediment in the ditches, rip rap breakers will be added to further improve the functionality.

We finished the day with a gathering to share a meal….beef provided by Brad and hosted by the Heeters. A great day all around.  “We Rock” POA!
